Our crisis intervention team visits with community members who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing an imminent crisis, in person or by phone, to offer support and guidance. Our staff will:

  • Listen
  • Provide emotional support and social connection
  • Work collaboratively to develop a safety plan
  • Provide resources, referrals and information, and help with system navigation
  • Work to address health, housing, substance abuse and food security challenges
  • Provide problem-solving, conflict resolution and relationship navigation support
  • Help community members to complete applications for Canada Pension Plan (PP), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works (OW), passports and other I.D. processes.
  • Encourage and develop self-advocacy skills
