Overview of Service
Our transportation service provides affordable transportation to adults 55+ or adults 18+ with physical and/or mental disabilities.
Can be booked for medical appointments, grocery shopping, attendance at Warden Woods programs, or monthly outings. Priority is given to clients requesting transportation to medical appointments. Our vehicles consist of a wheelchair accessible bus and van, one regular van and one sedan.
Warden Woods is a member of Toronto Ride. Launched in 1998, Toronto Ride is a collaborative partnership of fourteen not-for-profit, community support service agencies that provides door-to-door, assisted transportation to seniors 55+ and adults with disabilities who are not eligible for Wheel-Trans. Its transportation services help clients live independently by offering equitable access to health care, Adult Day Programs, and appointments and activities in the Toronto area.
Hours of Operation
The Transportation Department is open Monday to Friday excluding statutory holidays from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
The first pickup is 8:30am and the last pickup is 3:00pm. However, drivers may accommodate late pickups up to 3:45pm.
Warden Woods Programme Schedule
• Adult Day Program: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday- 8:30 am pickup, 3:00 pm drop off
• Friendship Club on Wednesday: 8:50 am pickup, 3:30 pm drop off
• Friday Group Grocery Shopping: Pickup times: 8:30 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm
• Transportation is provided for individuals living within the boundaries of:
• North of Lake Ontario
• South of Eglinton Avenue
• West of Kennedy Road
• East of Victoria Park Avenue
Eligible clients can request transportation to destinations outside the catchment boundaries, including some hospitals within the downtown core. Call us for more information.
Booking a Ride
Transportation services are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be booked 48 hours in advance. We will attempt to accommodate last minute emergencies. Pick up times and fees will be confirmed the day before. Clients are responsible for any additional parking fees, if applicable.

To Register for the Service
Call Simone in the Transportation Department at 416-694-1138 ext 134 to register. She will complete an intake including obtaining information on your mobility to ensure you receive the transportation service most appropriate for you.
Rates and Cancellation Policy
Rates are based on the distance travelled. A cancellation fee, the equivalent of a one-way fare, is charged for any ride cancelled on the same day as the scheduled ride. Please call to cancel the day before the scheduled ride to avoid cancellation fees.
